Well not exactly on the airplanes, but their headquarters in Chicago seems to be.
Per this USA Today article, Bed bugs have been found on the 16th floor of Chicago’s Willis Tower which is where United Airlines headquarters is located.
“Employees are complaining that they’ve been told very little about the infestation which is believed to be contained to an area on that floor,” WGN says in its report from earlier this week.
United confirmed the issue and says it’s working to address the problem.
“We did identify an isolated issue in a small group of cubicles and immediately brought in exterminators to do a full remediation,” United spokesman Charles Hobart says in a statement “We continue to bring in exterminators on site to ensure eradication.”
Bottom Line
The Willis Tower brought in K-9’s to detect the infestation and exterminators have come several times already.
Let’s hope these don’t spread to their planes!
I have been bitten by something bed bug like while on a plane from HKG. Probably was a UA flight.
