One of the best ways to earn Hyatt Diamond status is through their Hyatt Diamond Challenge in which they will challenge those who have top tier elite status with other hotel chains to join Hyatt by staying 12 nights in 60 days.
If you are interested in doing a Hyatt Diamond Challenge you can email them at goldpassport@hyatt.com, with your request and send your screenshots of  your statement that reflects comparable top tier status within that program with stay activity.

Bottom Line
The great thing about doing a Hyatt Diamond Challenge now is that the status would last through February 2016 meaning you will maintain this status for 17 months.
Another cool thing about doing a challenge is that you earn the four Hyatt Diamond suite upgrades at the start of the challenge, so you can use while completing the challenge.
Have you ever completed a Hyatt Diamond challenge? What was your experience?
Any chance those suite upgrades are valid on reward nights, or I am just being greedy? 🙂
Only on paid stays.
i want to do the challenge but may need to add some mattress runs locally. Any suggestions how and where to do the in So Calif? Do you actually need to stay or can you online check in?
How long does it take once you request to get status?
Sorry for all the questions and thank you for all the informative insight.
I’m staying at a Hyatt as part of a conference–the rate was negotiated down for conference attendees. Would these nights count toward the challenge?
My wife just finished the spend requirement to earn 2 Free rewards nights with Hyatt. I spent hours looking for upper tier availability and also spoke with a reservations specialist. Bottom line, do not expect to get upper tier awards with Hyatt. I checked the US and 4 European countries over a nine month period. Nothing!
