i want to do the challenge but may need to add some mattress runs locally. Any suggestions how and where to do the in So Calif? Do you actually need to stay or can you online check in?

I’m staying at a Hyatt as part of a conference–the rate was negotiated down for conference attendees. Would these nights count toward the challenge?
My wife just finished the spend requirement to earn 2 Free rewards nights with Hyatt. I spent hours looking for upper tier availability and also spoke with a reservations specialist. Bottom line, do not expect to get upper tier awards with Hyatt. I checked the US and 4 European countries over a nine month period. Nothing!
