On Friday Delta posted that it’s looking to hire Flight Attendants, and what they say about the job – well, we just can’t make this stuff up … “Please sit down, fasten your seat belt, prepare your career for take-off and get ready to embark on an amazing journey that, if you are willing to be dedicated and work hard, could allow you to meet thousands of people and see the world at the same time!”
Delta is looking to fill positions with ‘no bilingual speaking skills‘, in addition to those with Spanish, Mandarin, Dutch, Hindi and French speaking skills.
In-Flight interviews for successful applicants are in the process of being scheduled with the initial training classes set to begin the first week in January through early June. During the approximately eight weeks of training, Flight Attendants will receive training pay of $1,822.17 per month and dormitory-style housing.
This is the second time in less than six months that Delta has posted the position of Flight Attendant with ‘no bilingual speaking skills’. It was last posted in August and September, and applicants who applied earlier this year are not eligible to reapply. Delta said they anticipate the position will be posted again next summer.
Bottom Line:
Back in August, we called this “the ultimate travel job if you want to ditch your Monday thru Friday 9-to-5 job, but be prepared to pay with your nights, weekends, holidays, sleep schedule and perhaps your sanity.” Now that they have posted this for the second time, I am tempted to apply. Anyone else a potential applicant?
Hopefully this means the days of horrible service from Delta FAs are over, and some of them looked they were about to kick over at any moment!
Seriously, they old ladies who fly from Seattle to Asia are so slow and indifferent to the business class let alone economy customers I almost go and make my own drinks. Please retire and let someone who wants to be a stewardess do the job.
What are the chances of getting accepted?
How do we apply. Am flying for 17 yrs.
