Delta announced today that it opened an Arrivals Lounge in the arrivals hall of London Heathrow Terminal 3 with complimentary access for BusinessElite passengers and SkyMiles Diamond and Platinum Medallion members arriving on overnight flights from the United States.
The lounge will be open from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m. and features:
- eleven private showers
- on-site butler service including clothes press and shoe shine
- Starbucks Coffee, fresh fruit, pastries, yogurt and cereals and ‘prepared to order’ a la carte items
- Wi-Fi
- a business center
- staff on hand to assist with future Delta travel plans
BusinessElite customers will also have private car access to the Virgin Atlantic Upper Class Wing on departure at Terminal 3. This will enables them to go from car to Clubhouse in less than 10 minutes. It also allows passengers to use the Private Security Channel, bypassing the line and leaving more time prior to boarding.
Bottom Line:
With Delta’s increasing focus on its London business, this arrivals lounge makes sense for Delta to add this benefit for its premium passengers. Early morning arrivals into Europe can be rough after departing the USA late in the day, flying all night, and often arriving in Europe before the start of the business day. This lounge sounds like a great place to relax and refresh before another long day.
This is eerily similar to the Virgin Arrivals lounge in Terminal 3. It has exactly the same amenities as well — I wonder if it’s the same one?
