One eager passenger ready to get off the plane of a China Eastern plane thought he would be able to exit a few minutes early if deployed the emergency exit slide and just slide off…

Per KiroTV, “Surveillance video from the Sanya Fenghaung International Airport in Hainan shows China Eastern flight MU233’s slide deploy around 9p.m.

The man said he did not pay attention to the safety instructions at the beginning of the flight and didn’t realize the slide was only in case of emergencies.

Flight attendants claim they tried to stop the deployment but failed.

The flight ended up being delayed for two hours and the cost to repair the damaged door and slide will be over $16,000.

The incident happened only a few days after a Chinese couple, upon realizing they weren’t sitting together, threw boiling water on a flight attendant and threatened to commit suicide and blow up the plane.”

Bottom Line

WOW, just wow! If you’re looking to get off the plane early, deploying the emergency exit slide is NOT what you’re suppose to do. This resulted with the plane taking an additional 2 hour delay and costing over $16,000!
