Southwest Airlines flight 623 took off out of San Francisco International airport this morning at 6:24 a.m. with 109 passengers on board. The flight was scheduled to land in Phoenix, but instead it landed at Los Angeles International Airport at 7:38 a.m. with 110 passengers on board after a woman on board gave birth shortly after takeoff out of SFO.
Southwest Flight Diverts To LAX
According to KTLA:
The woman gave birth “slightly†after takeoff while the plane was in the air, Southwest Airlines spokeswoman Emily Samuels said.
A nurse and doctor were coincidentally on the flight and assisted in the delivery and care of the mother and baby until flight crews landed the plane and paramedics could take over, Samuels said.
Los Angeles Fire Department officials rendered immediate medical aid to the the mother and newborn before any passengers exited the plane, LAFD spokesman Erik Scott said.
Both were transported to a local hospital and said to be in good condition.
The passengers faced about a two hour delay on the ground in Los Angeles before flight 624 was cleared to take off to it’s original destination – Phoenix.
Bottom Line:
While it wasn’t revealed if the newborn was a boy or a girl, could this be baby South West following in the footsteps of baby North West born to famous parents Kim Kardashian and Kanye West?
Let’s all start a collection for the poor doctor that got F’ed out of his delivery fee because the woman ignored the…’don’t fly in your third trimester’ advice. Can someone please think about the poor doctors…the doctors people.
