This is great reason why you shouldn’t pass out in a Uber before selecting your correct destination in the app. One guy was leaving a NYE party in Atlanta and ended up in Mississippi along with a bill for a $908 Uber ride!
Man Finds Himself with a $900 Uber Bill to Mississippi
Per WDAM news, It wasn’t just the Mississippi football teams that took a beating after their bowl games.
An Ole Miss fan took a huge hit – to his wallet.
A Twitter user named @ompowderblues tweeted on Saturday that his cousin, Joseph Martin, left a New Year’s Eve party at the Peach Bowl in Atlanta, hailed an Uber cab, and then passed out.
The only problem was that he accidentally put his home address in Mississippi in the application. And yes, the driver actually drove him there.
The cab ride cost the poor guy $908.
His cousin also included a picture of the receipts in his tweets.
Thanks to @ompowderblues, we also found Martin on Twitter. He too tweeted and Instagrammed a picture of the unbelievable expense.
Along with the pictures, he writes “If anyone was wondering how my night went I think this about sums it up…”
We have reached out to Martin who is traveling to California today, but so far have not heard back.
Bottom Line
Be sure to enter the correct destination in the app. Uber is one of my favorite apps and I encourage you to sign up if you don’t have it already. Feel free to use my Uber link where you will get your first ride free up to $20.
It’s confirmed fake. Look at the ride receipt timestamp.
After that Peach Bowl, seems fair.
Also, about right for a lot of Delta ATL-JAN flights, and at least the passenger got to sleep.
