The `ultra low cost carrier` Spirit Airlines announced today that it will offer daily non-stop service between Boston Logan International Airport and Las Vegas McCarran International Airport starting on April 16, 2015.  Spirit also announced that it will be starting seasonal service that same date between Boston and Clevelend, and Boston and Detroit.image
From Boston, Spirit Airlines currently serves Atlantic City, Chicago O`Hare, Dallas/Ft Worth, Ft. Lauderdale, Fort Myers, Myrtle Beach, and West Palm Beach. Spirit also offers connecting service from Boston to over 30 cities in North America, the Carribean and Latin America.

Bottom Line:

JetBlue recently announced they would start service on April 30, 2015 between Boston and Cleveland. The announcement by Spirit Airlines will definitely create some head-to-head competition with JetBlue on the all three of the newly announced routes.  Perception is that JetBlue is a more comfortable airline with better legroom, free live TV, and free sodas and snacks, but will consumers be voting with their wallets and maybe willing to try Spirit over JetBlue?  I`ve flown JetBlue quite a bit, but have yet to fly Spirit. Anyone have anything good or bad to say about Spirit Airlines?
