The Hertz President’s Circle membership is a top tier rental car status with Hertz that offers great benefits including bonus points, confirmed upgrades and even more bonus points. It normally takes 20 more more rentals annually to achieve, but with the steps below, certain Delta members will be able to get the status for free.
And right now Hertz is offering a 3x bonus points promotion through March 25, 2015, so you can really rack up free rentals fast with the bonus from status and this promotion.
Hertz President’s Circle Benefits
The benefits of Hertz President’s Circle are outlined below:
- Confirmed vehicle availability of Standard Equipment Economy through Full-Size 4 door vehicles in the U.S. and Canada with a minimum 48 hour advance reservation.
- Confirmed vehicle one-car-class upgrade available at all participating locations in the U.S., Canada and select European locations. Maximum upgrade is to a Full-Size class vehicle with a minimum reserved Compact vehicle.
- 25% bonus on Hertz Gold Plus Rewards® Points.
- 675 Rewards Points after every 15 qualifying rentals.
- Includes all the benefits of Gold service.
My favorite benefits have to be the 25% bonus and the 675 bonus points after every 15 qualifying rentals. These are two great benefits that can really help you achieve free rentals faster. Free weekend day car rentals start at only 550 points.
Free Hertz President’s Circle
While Delta still has this offer up on their site (and who knows how long important information will remain on Delta’s site anymore after they removed their award charts), Delta Diamond, Platinum and Gold members can upgrade their Hertz status for free simply by going to this site and following the steps.
Diamond and Platinum members will receive complimentary status match to President’s Circle while Gold members will receive status match to Five Star level.
How To Get Hertz President’s Circle

Go to this site to apply to upgrade your Hertz account through this promotion.
- Login to your SkyMiles Account by following the link below
- Enter your Hertz Gold Plus Rewards number into your Car Loyalty Program under Hotel & Car Preferences of My Account (If you are not already a Hertz Gold Plus Rewards member, then please follow links provided on this page to complete enrollment)
- Click Save Changes
- Follow the link that appears to enter your Delta SkyMiles number for verification and opt-in to receive your benefit.
How Long Does It Take To Get
In my experience, the entire process took 3 weeks to get the status activated in my account. I applied online and waited three weeks. Then one day I received the email below notifying me that I’m not a Hertz President’s Circle Member.

Make sure you signup for free Hertz President’s Circle status or Hertz Five Star status if you have Delta Diamond, Platinum or Gold status. As a Delta Plat, this promotion did not work for me. I was able to enroll on Delta website with Hertz number and confirm Delta FF number however, my status never changed from 5 Star to Presidents Circle on my Hertz account. Even after waiting 3 months and trying twice. No problem, I have status with Budget and Avis too, so I just rent from Avis more.
This also did not work for me. My status never changed, even after trying multiple times and waiting up to 8 weeks. I never received the link it states to opt in.
