Hilton Category Change: 14 Hotels To Book Now

Hilton has announced, per Flyertalk, Hilton HHonors, FlyerTalk Ambassador Erin that Hilton will have a category change that will be effective April 8, 2015. 10 Hilton hotels will be decreasing in category and 14 will be increasing. If you had plans to book points at one of the 14 hotels that are going up in category, make sure to book before the increase in category, on April 8th.

Hilton Category Change: 14 Hotels To Book Now

On April 8, 2015, 10 of our hotels and resorts will be decreasing in hotel category, and 14 of our hotels and resorts will be increasing in hotel category. Below we have listed out all hotels changing category, what their new category will be and their location.

Hotels with Category Decrease:

  1. DoubleTree by Hiton Qingdao / Chengyang (Qingdao, China) – New Category: 3 / Previous Category: 6
  2. Hilton Mainz City (Mainz, Germany) – New Category: 4 / Previous Category: 5
  3. Doubletree by Hilton Resort Zanzibar – Nungwi (Zanzibar, Tanzania) – New Category: 4 / Previous Category: 6
  4. Doubletree by Hilton Kusadasi (Kusadasi, Turkey) – New Category: 4 / Previous Category: 6
  5. Hilton London Syon Park (London, United Kingdom) – New Category: 7 / Previous Category: 9
  6. Hampton Inn & Suites Center TX (Center, Texas) – New Category: 3 / Previous Category: 4
  7. Hilton Garden Inn Shreveport (Shreveport, Louisiana) – New Category: 3 / Previous Category: 4

Bottom Line

If you had your eye on one of the 14 Hilton hotels that are going up in category, book now to save on points. The category change will take effect April 8th. Good news also on the 10 hotels that will now require less points to book after the category change, if you are interested in any of those properties.
