Airport press officials held a press conference this afternoon to announce the following new service by Emirates. As reported by WFTV, Emirates Airlines will offer new service for the first time nonstop between Dubai and Orlando International Airport (OIA.) This will be the 10th U.S. destination for Emirates. Service begins September 1.
New Emirates Service Announced Today
“In terms of economic impact this means just north of $100 million to our community,” Chairman Frank Kruppenbacher said.
When the service begins in September, a Boeing 777 will fly from OIA to Dubai once a day.
“It offers up regions that have not been efficiently opened for us without taking multiple multiple flights,” Kruppenbacher said.
A coach seat on the flight will begin at around $1,100, officials said.
Emirates’ nine current U.S. destinations are:
- Boston
- Chicago O’Hare
- Dallas/Fort Worth
- Houston Bush Intercontinental
- Seattle
- Washington Dulles
- Los Angeles
- New York JFK
- San Francisco
Bottom Line
This new non-stop service from Orlando to Dubai is certainly exciting for anyone living close to Orlando, FL. I’m sure Disney is a big draw for Emirates as well as Orlando’s business meeting and conference venues. Flights should be bookable starting today and reportedly flights will start at $1,100 in coach.
The airport code OIA is Ourilandia Airport in Brazil. MCO is the airport in Orlando, FL.
Sweet.
Dom, you are right sorry about that typo. Orlando is MCO.
I was abbreviating Orlando International Airport (OIA) like the article. Sorry for the confusion.
