Forbes Life published a list earlier today compiled by the Forbes Travel Guide editors of what they are calling the “26 Most Anticipated Hotel Openings In 2015“. The list included some hotels already opened in 2015 and some yet to open. In order to make the list the hotel has to have a good location, good decoration, and/or good food and drink potential.
Here are just a couple properties off of the list which interest me more than others:
- The Ritz-Carlton, Bali
- The Old No. 77 Hotel & Chandlery New Orleans
- The St. Regis Dubai
- Rosewood Baha Mar Bahamas
- Virgin Hotels Chicago
- Shangri-La, at the Fort, Manila
- The St. Regis Istanbul
- Four Seasons Hotel Casablanca
- Park Hyatt Zanzibar
- The Langham, Palm Jumeirah, Dubai
But with that being said, I can’t realistically see myself visiting any of the properties on the list. The closest I could see coming to this list is the Bahamas – specifically the Grand Hyatt at Baha Mar – which has pushed its opening date back to June 1, 2015 per this post from the Gold Passport Concierge on Flyertalk.com.
Bottom Line:
Lists usually inspire me to plan vacations, but this list misses the mark for me. I have one trip planned to the Andaz Peninsula Papagayo Resort in Costa Rica. I’m hoping to make it to Africa this year, and maybe a Viking Ocean Cruise on their newest ship – the Viking Star – which sets sail this month. Is anyone else inspired by this list, or have a great trip planned for 2015?
Papagayo is decent enough but when you visit the four seasons which is connected, you’ll see a huge difference.
