Bottom Line
This is good news for anyone who collects Starwood points. It’s always good to have new exciting hotels that you can redeem your points for. We will have to wait a while for this one to be built. How about you? Do you think that you will want to go to this new Starwood property on the exotic coral island of Mactan in the Philippines?
I would! I don’t even think there is any SPG property right now in the Philippines. Back in the day they had a Westin Philippine Plaza, but it closed and is now a Sofitel.
I’m not sure I would – Mactan island is not really an “exotic coral island”, it’s a busy, built up island with the international airport of the second largest city in the Philippines and Magellan Bay is right next to the airport. I’d also want to see pictures of the “beachfront” – as far as I remember Magellan Bay is mostly mangroves and rocks…
While it is easy to get there thanks to the airport and you have the conveniences Of a big city, there are many more exotic islands in the Philippines, if that’s what you are looking for…
