Here’s how:

1. Activate your offer by October 15, 2015.
Note: you’ll need to activate even if you’ve done so for previous promotions.

2. Use your Southwest Airlines Rapid Rewards® Credit Card
for gas station purchases between August 1–October 15, 2015.

3. Earn 2 Rapid Rewards® Points per $1 spent on up to $2,500 in purchases at gas stations

Terms and Conditions:

To be eligible for this bonus offer, you must log on to the website referenced in this offer and enroll by 10/15/15 11:59 p.m. ET. This bonus offer only applies to Net Purchases made with your credit card in the following rewards category during the promotional period: gas stations. Merchants who accept Visa/MasterCard credit cards are assigned a merchant code which is determined by the merchant or its processor in accordance with Visa/MasterCard procedures based on the kinds of products and services they primarily sell. Chase groups similar merchant codes into categories for purposes of making rewards offers to you. Chase makes every effort to include all relevant merchant codes in its rewards categories. However, even though a merchant or some of the items that it sells may appear to fit within a rewards category, the merchant may not have a merchant code in that category. When this occurs, purchases with that merchant will not qualify for rewards offers on purchases in that category. Purchases submitted by you, an authorized user, or the merchant through third-party payment accounts, mobile or wireless card readers, online or mobile digital wallets, or similar technology will not qualify in a rewards category if the technology is not set up to process the purchase in the rewards category. For more information about Chase rewards categories, see www.Chase.com/RewardsCategoryFAQs. For a purchase to qualify for this bonus offer, the merchant must submit charges to your credit card by the last day of the promotional period. Please allow 6 to 8 weeks after qualifying purchases post to your account for bonus points to post to your account.

Bottom Line

This is nice and expected promotion that Chase and Southwest are launching for their cardholders. Normally I’d use a credit card that would earn bonus points at gas stations but now I’m more compelled to use my Southwest Premier Visa card the next time.

  1. This is like bait and switch. If it is only for Southwest cardholders you could just say Southwest cardholders, or say SOME Chase cardholders. I carry 3 Chase cards and none of them get this promotion. I understand your website makes money by clicks but this is just so pathetic.

  2. Let’s see, Vu: “Earn Double Points at Gas Stations for Southwest Cardholders” . Doesn’t sound deceptive to me at all. But no need to apologize. Bloggers that help thousands of readers every week expect a few rotten apples to slip through the cracks. By the way, thanks for this blog! Never got the email but was able to register anyway. Better to get the 5% from the Freedom card for now UNLESS a SW cardholder is close to earning a points award or companion status.

  3. Maggie —

I’m glad that your reading comprehension skills are so good!

Unfortunately, however, that was not how the title originally read —

Instead of reading for SW Cardholders, it read Chase cardholders, a distinction with a difference, that I believe someone such as even yourself could comprehend.

Too bad the blogger didn’t fess up to their “mistake” and admit same before someone such as yourself “chimed” in.

  4. OK, so the click bait is from the Boarding Area page, where it reads “Earn Double Points at Gas Stations for Chase Cardholders”. You only find out after you land here.

ALSO, this promo is a NO-GO for SWA Chase Biz cards.
