Some major news for Hyatt fans when it comes to their New York City properties. Today is the last day that the Hyatt 48 Lex will part of the Hyatt collection, as it will be independently run starting tomorrow.
Per Hyatt’s website:Â Please Note:Â Hyatt 48Â Lex will no longer be affiliated with Hyatt effective 11:59PM hotel local time on 31AUG15. Hyatt Gold Passport members for arrivals 01SEP15 and beyond will NOT be eligible to redeem Hyatt Gold Passport free nights, or receive program benefits, including Hyatt Gold Passport points and stay credits.
For those who have future bookings you may want to consider relocating to another Hyatt property in the area. Other Hyatts in New York City include the Grand Hyatt New York, Andaz 5th Avenue, Hyatt Times Square New York, Hyatt Herald Square New York, Park Hyatt New York, Andaz Wall Street and the Hyatt Union Square New York.
We’ve stayed here before and you can read our reviews on the hotel including Hyatt 48 Lex Trip Report, Terrace Studio At The Hyatt 48 Lex, and Hyatt 48 Lex New Diamond Breakfast Policy.
Bottom Line
This is definitely a loss for Hyatt and Hyatt Gold Passport members who travel to NYC, however there are several other Hyatts, however this seems to be a recent announcement, so it must of ended poorly with this property.
Do you think it will be acquired by SPG or one of the other chains?
“Must have” ended poorly. Not “must of”.
