Last month, we posted about an AMAZING mistake rate the Grand Hyatt Santiago for $2-$5 per night, which was bookable through American Express Fine Hotels and Resorts for American Express Platinum Cardholders.
Whenever there is a mistake rate, there is always the chance that the hotel won’t honor it, but according to this Flyertalk thread, this rate will be honored.
This is great news for those who got in on this deal, and were able to score rooms for $2 per night at the property. The best part is since this was booked through Fine Hotels and Resorts you’ll get all the added amenities including breakfast for two daily, room upgrade, 4pm check-out, and 2- 50 minute massages per booking.
My booking comes to CLP 11,325.00 which is $16.71 total for 5 nights, or $3.34 USD per night.
I decided to call up American Express Travel at 1-800-297-2977 and asked to speak to a supervisor who was well aware of this mistake rate and clarified that the rate will be honored and that my booking had already been flagged to be honored. If you have any questions, feel free to do the same.

That’s a score. Almost as good as my Delta glitch score. Flew JFK-HNL in FC for $119 per person. The JFK-LAX legs were in BusinessElite which was flat out awesome.
Any advice on the best way to get to Santiago on points? 🙂
