Last week, I was passing through New York’s LaGuardia (LGA) on a work trip, and decided to kill some extra time at the Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge located in the Central Terminal before security, which is a Priority Pass lounge, meaning that’d I’d be able to access with my Priority Pass Select Membership, which is a benefit of my Platinum Card from American Express.

The Air Canada Maple Leaf Lounge is located in the Central Terminal before security. This is the terminal serving Air Canada, Southwest Airlines, United, JetBlue, Spirit, Frontier, and Virgin America meaning if you’re flying any of those airlines you should have no issue finding the lounge, which is located upstairs behind the Air Canada check-in area.

Once you head up the escalator the lounge is right there, and you’ll notice that Star Alliance Gold members have access.

The lounge was recently renovated and has a somewhat modern feel to it. There was plenty of seating when I visited and it didn’t feel overcrowded.

There is even a quiet area in the back part of the lounge, so if you’re looking to get some work done in peace you can do so.

There is a decent selection of food including mixed greens, salsa, veggies, and some tomato/basil and mozzarella sandwiches.

The lounge was also offering a selection of two soups including clam chowder and a French Moroccan tomato lentil.

There were also tri color tortilla chips and pita ships, which were both tasty.

The lounge did feature a full-service bar, though the bartender seemed to be in the back most of the time I was there.

As well as a selection of two beers on tap including Coors Light and some sort of Canadian beer.

Bottom Line

The Maple Leaf Lounge is a nice lounge in the Central Terminal at LGA, so if you’re flying one of the airlines departing from this terminal, I’d recommend stopping by, but I don’t see myself coming here if I was departing form a different terminal such as Terminal C or D, where US Airways and Delta fly out of.

You can gain access to Priority Pass Select, which will get you lounge access here for free by being a cardholder of The Platinum Card® from American Express or The Business Platinum Card® from American Express. Note- there are other credit cards which provide Priority Pass Select membership including the Citi Prestige.

  1. If you are in the central terminal, and you have a platinum card, the Centurion Lounge is definitely the way to go
