Earlier this month, we wrote about how Hyatt was giving out Hyatt Diamond Status to anyone who status matched to them, which was short-lived and then decided to only match Starwood Platinum to Hyatt Diamond.
Well, it turns out that Hilton HHonors wants some of the hotel elite status action as well, and has actually created its own website for you to match online and get free Hilton Diamond Status.
This offer is valid now through January 11, 2016 and your status match with Hilton HHonors will be valid through March 31, 2017.
It’s actually quite easy to get matched on their website. All you need to enter is Your First and Last Name, Email Address, Hilton HHonors # as well as the loyalty program you’re matching from and then upload a screenshot. Acceptable forms of validation include a screenshot of your current account status or your membership card.

Are they matching any status to Diamond, or only SPG Platinum and Hyatt Diamond? Am currently Hilton Gold, SPG Gold, and Hyatt Platinum.
Very new to the points game so sorry if this is answered somewhere else. Thinking of trying to get the Hilton status upgrade but wanted to know what it takes to maintain this status, and if it might be better to wait?

@ABC, Thanks for you input. While this particular program had not been offered before I was thinking if it is successful they may offer it again or one even better. The waiting is only for my benefit when I am in a better place point wise to take full advantage of the status. It just doesn’t make sense to have the status if I’m not going to be to us it. Agreed — Hilton might 1) continue doing status matches but 2) if they only will match ONCE then it might be better to wait. Trouble is, I don’t know if either of those are true. Also might be better to wait a year till some of those new diamonds disappear but, again, only if we will be able to status-match at another time.
