American Airlines is launching several new routes from many of their hubs in the coming months. This comes after their latest announcement about their new Los Angeles service which was greatly expanded.
Here’s a rundown of their new routes by hub:
Charlotte:
- Charlotte to San Jose, California (SJC), seasonal daily service from June 2 through Aug. 15, operated daily by American with an Airbus A319
Dallas-Ft.Worth
- Dallas-Ft.Worth to Boise, Idaho (BOI), effective June 2, operated daily by American with an Airbus A319
- Dallas-Ft.Worth to Bozeman, Montana (BZN), seasonal daily service from June 2 through Oct. 4, operated daily by Mesa Airlines as American Eagle with a Canadair CRJ-900; service will also operate next winter (dates TBD)
- Dallas-Ft.Worth to Sioux City, Iowa (SUX), effective May 5, operated daily by Envoy as American Eagle with an Embraer E145
New York (LGA)
- New York (LGA) to Nantucket, Massachusetts (ACK), seasonal Friday/Saturday/Sunday service from June 3 through Sept. 4, operated by Republic Airlines as American Eagle with an Embraer E170
- New York (LGA) to Bangor, Maine (BGR), seasonal Saturday/Sunday service from June 4 through Sept. 4, operated by Air Wisconsin as American Eagle with a Canadair CRJ-200
- New York (LGA) toMartha’s Vineyard, Massachusetts (MVY), seasonal Friday/Saturday/Sunday service from June 3 through Sept. 4, operated by Air Wisconsin as American Eagle with a Canadair CRJ-200
- New York (LGA) toMyrtle Beach, South Carolina (MYR), seasonal Saturday/Sunday service from June 4 through Sept. 4, operated by Air Wisconsin as American Eagle with a Canadair CRJ-200
Chicago-O’Hare
- Chicago-O’Hare to Aspen, Colorado (ASE), seasonal daily service from June 2 through Oct. 4, operated daily by Envoy as American Eagle with a Canadair CRJ-700; service will also operate next winter (dates TBD)
- Chicago-O’Hare to Jackson Hole, Wyoming, (JAC), seasonal daily service from June 2 through Oct. 4, operated daily American with an Airbus A319
- Chicago-O’Hare to Sacramento, California (SMF), effective June 2, operated daily by American with a Boeing 737-800 (twice daily through Aug. 14)
Bottom Line
It’s an exciting time at American right now post-merger. It seems that they are beginning to fine-tune their combined network, so none of these new routes really surprise me that much, and I would expect that we’ll be hearing of even more new routes.
