American Express has launched their latest partner transfer bonus, and this one is a lucrative 50% transfer bonus through March 10, 2016 when transferring American Express Membership Rewards to Virgin America Elevate Points.
American Express has had several past transfer bonuses to Virgin America ranging from 25%-40%, so this is the highest bonus they’ve offered.
Membership Rewards normally transfer to Virgin America at 200 Amex points to 100 Elevate points, but with this promotion you’ll receive 150 Elevate points per each 200 Membership Rewards points.
For a sample one-way flight from New York- Los Angeles, Virgin America was asking for 6,186 Elevate points. With this promotion, you would need 8,400 American Express points for a one-way transcon JFK-LAX flight, which would transfer over to 6,300 Elevate points.
If you are looking for an award where Virgin America has a convenient route, consider this 50% transfer bonus from American Express to get more miles from your American Express Membership Rewards points.
If you’re looking for American Express cards to earn Membership Rewards points consider the following:

I’ve never flown on Virgin America before so I doubt I’ll take advantage of this offer. It does seem like Amex offers some sort of bonus to this program every few months or so.
