Have you seen Southwest’s new Atlanta market commercial? I was watching tv last night (The Bachelor with Mrs. WeeklyFlyer) when it came on touting their savings to passengers of over $37 million! It is super catchy and well done if you ask me. I even rewinded it to watch it again because the song and dancing was so entertaining. Take a look at the commercial here.

The commercial talks about all the money that Southwest saves their passengers by not having baggage fees (Southwest allows 2 checked bags for free.) And they also mention their policy of no change fees, for over $37 million in savings to their passengers.
No Change Fees & Bags Fly Free. When you fly with Southwest, sit back, relax and enjoy. Search Southwest Flights. When you have to change your flight, some airlines charge up to $150 on top of paying a difference in fare.
Their Companion Pass also offers frequent Southwest fliers the opportunity to save even more!
What is the Companion Pass?
You can get a Southwest Companion Pass by earning 110,000 qualifying points in one calendar year. With a Southwest Companion Pass, you can designate a companion who flies with you for just the taxes on every Southwest flight you fly even if you redeem points for your flight. For example, that is only $5.60 each way within the United States, so only $11.20 for your companion to fly with you! If you have the Companion Pass and plan to travel with someone this can add up to big savings fast!
Bottom Line
I find the common perception amongst frequent business travelers is that the Southwest Rapid Rewards is not designed for business travelers because they are lacking in international redemption opportunities, luxury and elite services. What do you think about Southwest’s new commercial and their services? Is Southwest your go to for flying?
