Most of us know about American Airlines as a major carrier for passengers, but did you know the airline is also very strong in the cargo space?

American Airlines has just won a prestigious award showcasing its capabilities in the cargo area. American Airlines was named the Best Cargo airline for the ninth year in a row. The criteria for the award is as follows: “Air Cargo News”, a trade publication, polled 18,000 professionals.

“Shippers, forwarders and partners were asked to vote for the airline that provided the best overall customer experience and for the best service provider in each region,” according to a company press release.

“I want to thank our customers and partners for the votes and consistent support provided over the years,” said Jim Butler, president of American Airlines. “This award is a true testament to our colleagues that deliver an efficient and seamless product on a global scale. I’m truly proud of all we’ve accomplished thus far and look forward to another year of growing and succeeding together.”

The award was received by the airline at a high class event in London which was attended by roughly 450 employees of American airlines.

American airlines is currently undergoing a $3 billion upgrade of its fleet. The airline is known for flying Boeing 737, Boeing 787 and Boeing 777 aircraft, among other types of planes.
