Bottom Line
Check your email for a targeted offer for bonus stars from Starbucks and don’t forget that you can get Super Easy Starbucks Gold Status Promotion with only one purchase!
No offer for me.
That’s too much damn work for a cup of coffee. These Starbucks Execs are crazy.
This is a lame offer. You need 125 stars to get a free beverage, you used to only need 12.
Just recently (late March), they had an offer where if you made 6 purchases, you would get 10 bonus stars. Add in the stars from each purchase itself and you had enough for a free beverage and were a third of the way to another one. Those purchases could happen all on the same day or spread out over a week.
With this offer, you have to go 8 days _in a row_ , and if all you bought was a tall coffee, you’d only earn 8*2*1.95 = 31 stars. Including the bonus, you still wouldn’t have enough for a free drink.
Even if you bought a $5 beverage every day, you’d end up with a total of 160 stars, enough for a free drink, but you are still worse off as you are only one quarter of the way to the next drink.
I get that they clearly decided they were being too generous, but the marketing about how the new program is better really ticks me off. They may as well say they think we’re all stupid.
I want to play the game of every time you spend a dollar, 10 stars are added. So for example 1 dollar spent 10 stars are added. So 1for10, 2 for 20, 3 for 30 stars and s
