The TSA checkpoint isn’t the only place that you will find long lines at the airport.  Many popular fast food and fast casual eateries at airports are also being plagued by longer than usual lines. Here are three ways to speed up your fast food:

  1. Call Ahead To Place Your Order – one of my favorites is Potbelly Sandwich Shop (IAD, MDW, PDX, BWI – 2 locations), and they gladly welcome phone orders. In fact I have a couple of their airport locations stored on my phone – making it quick and easy to call ahead. When it’s time for pick up, just skip the line and head straight for the cashier.IMG_1398
  2. Use The Eateries Mobile AppChipolte has a mobile app that includes ordering capabilities at BWI, IAD and MCO. I also find that having a couple of dollars on both the Starbucks app and the Dunkin Donuts app speeds up my visit because I am not digging thru my bag looking for a credit card.IMG_5100

Use A Third Party App such as GrabGrab is available for Android and iOS devices that gives you access to dining and retail opportunities at over a dozen airports around the country, and they are expanding.  You order using the app and then go to the Grab and Fly! express pick up location at the eatery.Screen Shot 2016-06-04 at 10.47.16 AMBottom Line:
Travel goes a lot better when some of your favorites foods are available at the airport, and it’s even better when you can grab and go quickly.  Anyone else have any tips on what is good, and quick at an airport?
