American Express has launched a new offer, where cardholders can earn double points at Small Businesses through December 31, 2016. This new promotion applies to all Amex cards, not just Membership Rewards products, which is great.
You can view their Small Business map here to see what qualifies as a small business. If you have multiple American Express cards, you must register each card separately.
This offer applies to all their consumer and small business cards including the following:
Terms and Conditions:Â You will not earn 2X rewards (i) on any bonus you may already receive with your Card, including any additional points/miles/cash back that you may already receive when you spend on certain types of purchases or at certain merchants or (ii) on any other bonus/rewards you may earn with a different promotion or offer from American Express. This offer applies to the first $250,000 in purchases for each eligible Card Account issued to a business and the first $100,000 in purchases for each eligible Card Account issued for personal use, starting from the time you complete enrollment through 12/31/16.
Bottom Line
If you’re looking to earn extra points with you Amex cards, then consider doing some small business shopping the rest of the year. In prior year’s they have offered a special deal for Small Business Saturday, however it remains uncertain if they will be offering another deal this year.
So as you understand this, if you have an amex card that pays two points at restaurants, it would be four points? Or, instead, would it be one point doubled, so two points, and then add in the bonus point for restaurants, equaling three points total?
This is a pretty sweet deal. How often do you have the chance to earn double Starwood points without actually staying at a Starwood property?
