I tried it with 2 different amex cards and $60 cart of amazon as the seller items. Both times got a message saying “promotion can not be applied”.

Yes! I’ve been trying to use it for the last hr. and it would not work for me either! I even forwarded it. We should have been told we had to be invited!

The people at Amazon are unaware that this is by invitation only. The offer is all over their website with no mention of “invitation only.”
Very sloppy execution by AmEx and Amazon.
