Bottom Line
This promotion will be interesting for some. Starwood and Marriott have good transfer options that you can stack for bigger deal. As a reminder, Now Is A Great Time To Get The Starwood American Express Card/s! Keep in mind that bonus miles will post to your account by the end of May.
Sorry if this is a silly question. Is this a good opportunity to transfer some MR to Hilton HHonors to get a 50% bonus, and then to Aeroplan and get up to 30% on top of that?
Hey Max, since membership rewards transfer to Aeroplan you would be much better off transferring directly to Aeroplan. Example: transfer 20,000 MR to Hilton for 30,000 HHonors points (or whatever they’re called now. Those 30,000 points will transfer to 3000 Aeroplan miles before bonus (10,000:1000 ratio), so a grand total of 3600 Aeroplan points will be had from 20,000 MR this way, when you could have just transferred directly into 20,000 Aeroplan points.
