Details On Marriott, Ritz Carlton And SPG’s Summer Promos
Starting today, Marriott Rewards, The Ritz-Carlton Rewards and Starwood Preferred Guest (SPG®), the trio of loyalty programs from Marriott International, Inc. are offering new opportunities for members to earn unlimited bonus points to fuel their travel passions, in three unique ways:
- Marriott Rewards MegaBonus Infinite Points: Up to 4,000 Marriott Rewards bonus points per stay (beginning with the second stay),
- The Ritz-Carlton Rewards Summer Sojourns: Double Ritz-Carlton bonus points for stays longer than two nights
- SPG Take Three: Triple Starpoints for stays that include a weekend, or double Starpoints for weekday stays at participating hotels.
The registration period for all three programs is May 15- August 30. The earning period for each is May 27 – September 4. Members can register for each promotion and learn more here.

Check out these promos and look for more information when we break each of these promotions down in individual posts this week. If you are short on elite status, consider the Starwood Preferred Guest Credit Card from Amex which gives 5 elite qualifying nights, and 2 stay credits just for having the card. The Platinum Card from American Express offers complimentary annual SPG Gold status just for having the card, so that is something else to consider.

The maximum bonus from Marriott is 4000 points per night if you stay for only 1 night and a different brand per stay. That’s the equivalent of 1333 starpoints. Without staying at a different brand, you earn 2000 points or 666 starpoints
The maximum bonus from SPG is triple points, or 4 extra points per dollar. As a comparison to Marriott offer, in order to earn 1333 starpoints per stay you would need to spend $333. To earn 666 starpoints you need to spend $167.
Needless to say, Marriott promotion is more profitable for most people.
