The W Washington D.C. is a SPG Category 6 property, meaning award nights start at 20,000 Starpoints per night, or Cash and Points is offered for 10,000 Starpoints plus $180. The W Washington D.C. is centrally located in the heart of D.C. on 15th Street NW placing it right by the White House, making it a great location if you’re looking to do some sightseeing while here.

The hotel has a total of 317 guest rooms and suites, Pinea, the hotel’s full service restaurant, a Bliss Spa, and their well-known POV rooftop bar and lounge.

As a SPG Gold Member, thanks to the status from my American Express Platinum Card, I was upgraded to a Spectacular Room, which is a slightly larger and an exterior view of F street. I opted for the welcome drink as my SPG Gold amenity which was good at their rooftop POV bar.

Bottom Line

Overall I had a nice stay at the W Washington D.C. and would highly recommend the hotel based on the great location and friendly staff I encountered throughout my stay. The POV rooftop is a local hot spot, though I was told hotel guests get preferred access in the evenings when it’s busy which is a nice perk of staying here.
