American Express has improved their transfer ratio from American Express Membership Rewards to Hilton HHonors points for 2018. With this change, Membership Rewards points now transfer at 1:2 ratio, meaning for every 1,000 points transferred you’d now receive 2,000 Hilton HHonors points.
This change has already been updated on the Membership Rewards site, if you’re looking to take advantage of this. It will be interesting to see if there are any upcoming American Express to Hilton transfer bonuses in the near future on top of this, as they’ve been known to offer them in the past including a recent 33% transfer bonus.
This news comes on the heels of their latest promotion, Points Unlimited where will can earn 2,000 bonus points on every stay plus 10,000 bonus points on every 5th stay through April 30th, 2018.
If you’re looking for American Express cards to earn Membership Rewards points consider the following:
- The Platinum Card® from American Express
- American Express® Premier Rewards Gold Card
- Business Green Rewards Card from American Express OPEN
- The Business Gold Rewards Card from American Express OPEN
- The Business Platinum Card® from American Express OPEN
Overall this is a welcome change for those looking to redeem their American Express Membership Rewards points for hotel stays. Hilton is one of three hotel partners in the program which also include Starwood Preferred Guest (1,000:333) and Choice (1,000:1,000), so it’s nice to see Hilton improving their transfer ratio.
