The SimplyCash® Plus Business Credit Card from American Express is one card that I carry because it offers a generous 5% cash back on office supply stores (on first $50,000 spent) as well as 3% cash back on a category of your choice giving the consumer a lot of flexibility in what they value most. You can change the 3% category once per year between December 1 and January 31. Now is your chance if you didn’t like the category you chose last year, to pick a different one that you might spend more on this year. If you don’t change it by January 31, it will remain the same.

If you carry the card, you know that one of the best features of the SimplyCash® Plus Business Credit Card from American Express is that you earn 5% cash back at US office supply stores (on first $50,000 spent) (and U.S. wireless telephone services.)  You can purchase gift cards at Office Supply stores like Staples for other retailers like Amazon, Southwest, Starbucks and more and earn 5%!

• 3% cash back on the category of your choice from a list of select categories

There is also no annual membership fee which makes the cash back percentages on this card pretty generous.

Remember you don’t have to be an incorporated business to open up a business card. If you are a sole proprietor just enter your Social Security number in the TAX ID field.

• U.S. purchases for shipping
• US computer hardware, software, and cloud computing purchases made directly from select providers

Be sure to pick the category that you spend the most on to maximize this.

You have until January 31, 2018 to choose your 3% category or change it if you already have the SimplyCash® Plus Business Credit Card from American Express and want to change it from what you had last year.
