We’ve written about the Andaz Peninsula Papagayo, located near Liberia, Costa Rica which offers a great redemption value for World of Hyatt members as a Category 4 property, with rooms starting at 15,000 points per night.
This is also great since those with the Hyatt Visa can use their anniversary free night here as well, since it’s good at Category 1-4 properties. I was searching around for some dates in March for a possible Costa Rica trip, and noticed that rates here were astronomically high.
Most likely due to Spring Break, however the cheapest rates I found the last week in March were $1,190 per night. However, you could alternatively redeem 15,000 points for the night, giving you a redemption value of 7.9 cents per point.
If you’re short on World of Hyatt points, they’re a 1:1 transfer partner of Chase Ultimate Rewards.
Have you stayed at the Andaz Peninsula Papagayo before? Feel free to share your thoughts below!
I just stayed there with a mix of points and free nights. Great hotel, decent food, but the location was not nearly as good as I expected. Not likely to return.
Stayed there last year in June and it was amazing. Gorgeous property and rooms. View was amazing. Used points (15k).
Great little bar/restaurant in close by little harbor.
Yes it is isolated but that’s what we wanted.
