It’s Exotic Meat Month and to celebrate, Bull City Burger and Brewery in Durham, North Carolina has a special burger they’re offering that we couldn’t help but share. Every year the restaurant offers a special burger which is why they have a tarantula burger.

They are also serving up an ice cream sundae with chocolate covered bugs. We were hoping for some exotic meat martinis, but sadly none are on the menu this year!

For those interested in this, the tarantula burger is 100% pasture-raised beef, gruyere cheese, a spicy chili sauce, topped with an oven-roasted tarantula.

Details of the Tarantula Challenge at Bull City Burger and Brewery:

During the month of April, Bull City Burger and Brewery hosts the Tarantula Challenge, to test the most daring of taste buds. If you are interested and up to the task, come to the restaurant to sign up for the Tarantula Raffle. You will be given a raffle ticket to keep and we will record your name and phone number on our raffle list. Sign ups run March 22 through April 29, 2018.

Beginning on Wednesday, April 4, 2018, and then every day while supplies last, we will draw a raffle ticket and post the winning number on Facebook, Twitter, and our website. If your raffle number is drawn, you have 2 days to call the restaurant (919) 680-2333 and speak with a manager. You and the manager will arrange a date within 7 days of calling that you will return to the restaurant to purchase the exclusive Tarantula Burger (pasture-raised NC beef burger, oven-roasted tarantula, and spicy chili sauce) with Dirty Fries for $30. If you are able to eat the entire burger you will receive one of our limited edition Tarantula Challenge t-shirts (sizes are limited) and get your picture taken for social media fame and glory. Should you be unable to call within the two day period to claim your tarantula, it will be returned to the spider burrow and raffled off to another lucky winner.

If you happen to be traveling to Durham, North Carolina this month, you’ll have to stop by and try the tarantula burger and report back how it is!
