Whether you have TSA Precheck or CLEAR, you still have to go through security before your flight, and while these programs will speed up this process, you’re only as as fast as the passenger in front of you. Here’s a look at 15 crazy things people tried to sneak through airport security, as The Cheat Sheet describes. This list includes cocaine cookies, a live tiger cub, and even 200 poisonous tarantulas!
What Passengers Have Tried to Bring Through Airport Security?!
Per The Cheat Sheet:
- A baby: Almost every airline now charges to check a bag, and one Air France passenger flying from Istanbul to Paris Charles de Gaulle got caught bringing a 2 month year old through in her carry-on luggage.
- Venomous snakes: We’ve all heard of “Snakes on a Plane” the movie, but how about snakes at security. One passenger leaving South Korea headed to Atlanta casually tried to bring 30 poisonous snakes with him.
- 200 poisonous tarantulas: Passengers should realize that when they’re going through security their bags are actually being X-rayed and checked for suspicious items meaning if you’re trying to pass through 200 spiders you’re gonna get caught. A few years ago that’s what happened to a German couple trying to bring wildlife back from Peru to Amsterdam’s Schiphol airport.
