Delta announced they’ll be launching new nonstop service between New York’s John F. Kennedy and home Orange County (SNA) John Wayne Airport, starting October 15, 2018. The flight will operate as a morning departure from New York (JFK), and an early afternoon departure on the return.
This route will be operated by one of their 737-700’s which feature 12 First Class seats, 18 Comfort+ seats, and 94 seats in the Main Cabin.
Per Delta,
These new flights are already loaded into their schedule and available for purchase now including redeeming SkyMiles.
It’s nice to see Delta adding back service between Orange County and New York (JFK), as well as the timing of these flights. Often, with a one daily flight from the West Coast, we’ll see a redeye departure, however that is not the case here.

ya ….. DL finally woke up to smell the coffee of a city paring that’s already flown 3x daily by rival airlines.
I wonder if this route is sustainable long term? Delta doesn’t have many 737-700s. Plus, the short runway at SNA could create performance issues.
