I am a huge Uber fan! I use them pretty much exclusively when I travel. It looks like Uber is taking safety seriously and have add what look to me like 2 very user-friendly additions to the app to help keep riders feeling safe.

Uber Cool New Safety Features With App

1.) you can now share your location with “trusted contacts” in the app.

2.) you can call 911 right from your app, where you can also see exactly where you are and in some cities, the app will even share it with the 911 dispatcher.
