CLEAR has officially launched at PHX, and is open for customers traveling from Terminal 4, home to both American Airlines and Southwest Airlines. CLEAR plans to expand to both Terminal 2 and 3 at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport shortly, which makes sense, since Delta who has part ownership in the company, flies out of Terminal 3. As a CLEAR member, I’m pleased to see that PHX is officially added as an airport!
CLEAR Now Open at Phoenix Sky Harbor International Airport (PHX)
Per CLEAR,
CLEAR is available today at PHX Terminal 4 and will soon be available at all terminals. Launching in the midst of a record summer travel season, bringing CLEAR to PHX means travelers can now count on a fast, predictable security experience every time they fly. CLEAR members move through a dedicated lane at airport security where they instantly validate their identities with just the tap of a finger or blink of the eye before moving on to the bag checks and metal detectors. Airlines for America – the industry trade organization for U.S. airlines – announced it expects a record 246 million airline travelers between June and August this year.
CLEAR uses fingerprint and iris I.D. technology to expedite the document check portion of the TSA security process. CLEAR members verify their identity in the dedicated CLEAR lane and then enter either TSA PreCheck or general screening depending on their status, reducing the overall amount of time spent at security.
