On the heels of Delta A350 launch, with their new Delta One Suites, Delta’s first retrofitted Boeing 777-200ER has taken flight, equipped with an all new interior including Delta One Suites, and their new Premium Select Cabin. The first route to see the new 777 is Detroit (DTW) to Beijing (PEK), which launched this week.
If you’re looking to redeem your Delta SkyMiles or American Express Membership Rewards Points for Delta One Suites, or Premium Select on either the retrofitted 777’s or the new A350’s we recommend using the Juicy Miles award booking service, who can help you redeem for the lowest amount of miles.
Per Delta,
Highlights of Delta’s refreshed 777 aircraft include:
- 296 seats total, including seating for 28 in award-winning Delta One suites, 48 in the popular Delta Premium Select cabin and 220 in Main Cabin
- 9-abreast seating in Main Cabin versus the industry norm of 10 across
- Seatback entertainment screens throughout with Delta Studio and thousands of hours of content — free of charge across all cabins
- Full-spectrum LED ambient lighting with customized lighting schemes depending on phase of flight
Delta’s first refreshed 777 will operate the Detroit and Beijing route on alternating days for the month of July only, filling in for the A350.
All eight of Delta’s 777-200ER and all 10 777-200LR aircraft will be retrofitted by the end of 2019.

Medallion members take note, with this retrofit and the introduction of Delta Premium Select, you’re not eligible for complimentary upgrades, so you’ll likely be in the Main Cabin since Premium Select replaces Comfort +. When it comes to the Main Cabin, your best bet is to try to score a seat in the exit row.
