One benefit to the SkyMiles program is the ability to rollover Medallion Qualifying Miles each year. For those who earn more MQMs needed than your qualification level, the excess MQMs rollover to the following year.
When Do Delta Rollover Medallion Qualification Miles Post?
As it’s 2019, if you login into your SkyMiles account, you’ll see your Medallion qualification statistics have been reset. You may be wondering where your MQMs are that you were going to rollover.
Per Delta, 2018 Rollover Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs) will begin posting on January 7, 2019. Please allow 1-2 weeks for Rollover MQMs to post to your SkyMiles account. Learn more about Rollover MQMs.
As with years past, it’s a manual process for these to process with Diamond Medallions to post first followed by Platinum Medallions, Gold and Silver Medallions in that order. All Rollover Medallion Qualification Miles will be posted before the end of January.
How Rollover MQMs work:
- MQMs automatically roll over to the next qualification year for Medallion Members who earn MQMs above their earned Medallion Status and have met the MQD Requirement.
- There is no maximum limit to the number of MQMs that can be rolled over.
- Rollover MQMs are available to earned Silver Medallion Members and above; Customers with earned General Membership qualifications are not eligible for Rollover MQMs.
- Members who receive complimentary or gifted Medallion Status are eligible for Rollover MQMs based on their earned Medallion Status.
If you have fallen short on your Medallion status, you can still purchase Medallion Qualification Miles (MQMs), Medallion Qualification Dollars (MQDs) and Medallion Qualification Segments (MQSs) which will be posted to your 2018 balance and apply toward your 2019 Status until February 28, 2019 through Delta’s Elevate Your Status promotion.
If I have earned 66k MQM this year and have $3025 MQD, will I roll over everything above 25k for the Silver I earn? Or would I need to have the MQD for Gold to roll over above 50k MQM?
