Delta Air Lines has been rolling out an international Premium Economy product on new and retrofitted aircraft in their fleet. This cabin offers a more spacious seat as well as an increased service offering that is great for longer flights. When initially launched with Delta, it was difficult to know the flights that would feature Premium Economy, which made booking a little challenging.
However, Delta now has over two dozen aircraft in service and allows for award redemptions. While there is no award chart and pricing can vary widely on routes, season of travel, and other factors, one-way premium economy starts at 55,000 SkyMiles plus taxes and fees for flights from the US to Europe. Delta Air Lines brands their Premium Economy as Premium Select.
To book a Delta Premium Economy with SkyMiles, first visit Delta’s site and enter the origin and destination. As Delta continues to update its fleet and receive new aircraft, only certain routes will feature Premium Select.
When searching for award space, its best to search one-ways and use the calendar function to see a variety of dates with prices.
After you have identified which date will work for your travel plans, select it to see available flight options.
If you have selected Premium Select for the cabin of travel, the results will only display Premium Select and Business Class redemption prices for each flight.
Delta Air Lines does not charge fuel surcharges and most Delta operated flights departing the United States internationally should have low taxes and fees. With no published award chart, always make sure to compare redemption rates to get the best available cabin offering.
As more aircraft receive the Premium Select cabin, availability will hopefully increase to provide great redemption opportunities. Delta Air Lines will be adding several new routes in the coming year including a refreshed Boeing 767 interior. Have you flown Delta Premium Select before, leave a comment below about how you found the experience!
If you’re looking to redeem your Delta SkyMiles for Premium Economy awards, we recommend using the Juicy Miles award booking service, who can help you redeem for the lowest amount of miles while searching availability on partner airlines.
