Delta has mad a positive change for Silver Medallion members flying Virgin Atlantic as of this week. Silvers will now join Gold, Platinum and Diamond Medallions and receive both priority check-In and priority boarding on Virgin Atlantic flights.
However, Gold, Platinum and Diamond Medallions still receive priority security, lounge access, priority baggage handling, and Diamonds can even use their Global Upgrade certificates on Virgin Atlantic flights.
Per the Recent Medallion Member Updates,
Beginning May 21, 2019, Silver Medallion Members are now eligible to receive Priority Check-In and Priority Boarding when traveling on all Virgin Atlantic-operated* flights. These benefits will allow Silver Medallion Members to check in at the Virgin Atlantic Premium Economy check-in desks and board with Priority Boarding on Virgin Atlantic flights.
As a reminder, as of November 2018, Silver Medallion Members also receive a free checked bag when traveling on all Virgin Atlantic-operated flights. This benefit includes a waived fee for one extra bag over the standard allowance on Virgin Atlantic-operated flights, regardless of the cabin booked.
It’s nice to see that Virgin Atlantic adding these additional benefits for Delta Silver Medallions onboard their flights. Given their strong partnership I’m almost more surprised that Silvers didn’t receive these benefits already.
