New Grand Hyatt Hotel In Vail, Colorado

Hyatt just announced the new opening of the 285 room Grand Hyatt Vail, which was previously the Hotel Talisa part of Marriotts’ Luxury Collection. The hotel was recently renovated in 2018, so with Hyatt’s takeover it’s unlikely that we’ll see any major changes except for some branding.

For those looking to redeem Hyatt points, you won’t find any deals here, as the Grand Hyatt Vail is a Category 7 property meaning free nights start at 30,000 points per night. Additionally, there’s no Grand Club at the property (at least not presently), so only Globalists will receive free breakfast in the restaurant as an added benefit.

Hyatt currently has the Park Hyatt Beaver Creek, which is located at the neigborhing Beaver Creek Resort. This is also a World of Hyatt Category 7, for those redeeming points, it could be a tough argument to choose the Grand Hyatt over the Park Hyatt, though the Grand Hyatt was just renovated.

Per Hyatt,

Hyatt announced today the opening of the luxury Grand Hyatt Vail, marking the second Grand Hyatt hotel in Colorado and the first in a U.S. mountain resort destination. The 285-room ski-in/ski-out resort sits at the base of the iconic Vail Mountain on the banks of Gore Creek and offers guests their own ski lift, Chair 20, for convenient access to world-class skiing and snowboarding.

Located in the heart of Vail Valley within the Cascade Village neighborhood, the hotel features bold, vibrant architecture inspired by its scenic locale and welcoming service, with exclusive amenities ideal for both leisure travelers and conference attendees alike.
