Hyatt announced plans for their newest brand, which will join their existing select service portfolio including Hyatt Place and Hyatt House. Caption by Hyatt, seems like it’s aimed to compete with Moxy Hotels.
Hyatt shared that they don’t have any specifics on the first Caption by Hyatt opening, but except to see updates in the near future once properties are announced. You can learn more about Caption by Hyatt on their development site.
As of June 30, 2019, Hyatt’s pipeline consists of 460 hotels (or approximately 92,000 rooms), so it will be interesting to see how Caption plays into this, if other slated brands end up part of this!
Per Hyatt,
Hyatt today announced Caption by Hyatt, a new lifestyle brand within the select service category that will bring people closer together, allowing them to work, eat or socialize in comfortable, flexible, communal spaces that encourage meaningful conversations and connections.
The Caption by Hyatt brand has been designed to create a location where guests feel comfortable striking up a conversation with someone new over a cup of coffee, a bite to eat or a drink at the end of the day. Caption by Hyatt hotels will be anchored by a distinctive food and beverage experience that will be a vibrant mash-up between café, market and bar. Danny Meyer’s Union Square Hospitality Group (USHG) consulted on the design and curation of a conversation-worthy food and beverage concept for the brand.
Feel free to share your thoughts in the comments below about Caption and if you’d be interested in staying there once the first one opens.
