The Ritz-Carlton Rancho Mirage, Palm Springs located in the Coachella Valley and features 244 guest rooms and suites. It’s a Marriott Bonvoy category 7 property requiring 60,000 points for a free night redemption.

As a Marriott Gold Bonvoy member, thanks to my status from my American Express Platinum Card, I was upgraded from a Deluxe Resort Room to a Desert View Room on the 3th floor over looking the mountains. I was also granted complimentary internet access due to my status.

The property does have a $40 nightly resort fee which is not waived for elite members which includes fitness classes, 24 hour fitness center access, complimentary shoe shine service, early morning coffee in the lobby, and bike rentals.

Bottom Line

When it comes to redeeming points, 60,000 points is a lot for this property, however depending on when you go, you may be able to find a cheaper cash rate in the low $200’s especially during the summer season, so be sure to compare all booking options.

The hotel does have a Club Lounge, but don’t expect any free upgrades to the Club.

I was appreciative of the upgrade as a Bonvoy Gold member, however it’s essentially just a slightly better view than the resort view.
