Hyatt’s Pay My Way New Reservation Feature

Hyatt announced they’re piloting a new reservation process called Pay My Way, which will allow select World of Hyatt members to make complex reservations online. If a World of Hyatt member wishes to have multiple rates including redeeming points or free night awards, they’ll now be able to do so all in one reservation.

Let’s say you have a free night certificate from the World of Hyatt credit card, and then want to stay a second night using points. With Pay My Way, you’ll now be able to book the two nights in the same reservation. Previously, you’d have to make two separate bookings, or call-in to have your reservations combined.

Beginning today, Hyatt is launching a new Pay My Way booking pilot for all Hyatt hotels and resorts for a small audience of World of Hyatt members, allowing them to book their stays using multiple payment types in a single transaction. The decision to pilot this feature was driven by listening to member insights, which revealed that they want more choice, control and flexibility when it comes to booking their travel with rewards. The current member booking process requires members to contact the Global Contact Center by phone and speak to a customer representative in order to book their stay with multiple payment types or create multiple, separate bookings. Enabling this booking feature digitally creates a much more user-friendly, seamless booking process.

Pay My Way will allow World of Hyatt members to select multiple payment types within a single booking, empowering them to maximize their use of cash, points, Points + Cash and free night awards across their desired stay dates. Primarily, this feature will focus on rate plans without restrictions including the World of Hyatt Member Rate, Standard Rate and other flexible rate plans. More rate plans may be added in the future but at this time to ensure consistency of benefits for entire stay and any cancellation policies, rates will be limited.

Based on member feedback coming out of this pilot, we will test and refine over the next several weeks. We plan to offer this to all World of Hyatt members on Hyatt.com starting later this month. This feature will also be offered on the World of Hyatt mobile app in the following weeks shortly thereafter.
