Southwest Airlines has added a new feature to their mobile app, where you can now retrieve multiple boarding passes if traveling as a group in the same reservation. If you’re a party of 2-8, you can now check-in and view everyone’s boarding pass all within the app.
Southwest explains:
After months of testing, we released an update to the Southwest Mobile Apps which allows all Passengers that are on the same reservation to have access to their party’s Mobile Boarding Passes. With this new feature in place, reservations with multiple Passengers are no longer required to print out boarding passes from a kiosk or ticket counter. Now upon checkin of the reservation, Mobile Boarding Passes will be available in the Southwest app for all members under the reservation!
The process to retrieve and save these passes is simple and doesn’t deviate too far from the current process used today as a single Passenger. In fact, that process of selecting a single ticket at a time remains the same for multi-Passengers. We have just added a new feature that will allow you to pick and choose which passes you want to view, use, and scan.
What are the requirements to access this multi-Passenger Mobile Boarding Pass feature?
- Phones
- All phone types – iPhone, Android, iPad
- Apps
- Southwest Airlines mobile apps – iOS and Android
- Southwest Airlines Mobile Website
Even though you are using multi-Passenger boarding passes you must line up in your designated boarding position. You must not deviate from your assigned position, even when/if you find yourself and the rest of your group not in the same position.
