Last year, Southwest Airlines announced they’d be leaving Newark Liberty International Airport, now JetBlue Airways has announced a major route expansion. JetBlue Airways plans to launch 30 new routes by the end of this year with the majority of these routes at Newark.
JetBlue will be filling in many of the popular routes that Southwest ended when they left in November last year including service to Las Vegas, Phoenix, San Diego, and Austin as some highlights. Additionally, JetBlue will be launching their premium Mint experience at Newark on flights to/from Los Angeles and San Francisco, a direct competitor to United’s premium product on these routes.
