Bottom Line

Due to the COVID-19 pandemic, hotel occupancy has drastically dropped, so it’s so surprise Marriott Bonvoy is offering off-peak pricing at over 5,500 of its hotels through the end of July. I’m fairly certain that we’ll see these discounted award prices be extended, as it’s unlikely traffic will pick to where we were before the pandemic began anytime soon.

If you’re looking to earn elite status or a higher tier with Marriott, as a reminder award stays do count as qualifying nights, so this could make sense if you started off the year with much travel and just need a few more nights to reach the next tier.
