Rakuten, which used to be eBates, is an online shopping portal which offers cash backs when you shop or book travel through their portal.

One of their sites is Marriott Bonvoy which means you can book any upcoming Marriott stays right now and you’ll receive 6.5% cash back. This is in addition to all the regular credit card and Marriott Bonvoy points you’d normally earn for your stay.

If you’re new to Rakuten, you’ll also earn an extra $40 free after your first purchase, and making a purchase or booking of $40 or more, meaning you’re essentially an additional $40 back on your first stay.

For comparison, Rakuten normally offers 1.5% cash back, so booking now you’ll receive 6.5% back, making this a great deal to book future hotels. Ratuken doesn’t list how long the 6.5% cash back will last, so I’d recommend booking any upcoming hotel stays, especially if they’re refundable to lock in the increased cash back.

Once you’ve signed up, you can also start referring your friends and family and you’ll be able to earn the same $40 referral bonus for each new person who signs up. This exciting deal is going on now through December 25, 2020.
