Last year, Delta launched a limited time Delta’s Status Match Promotion which was its most generous Medallion Status Match and Challenge, which essentially matched you to a higher tier level of status with Delta than you’re matching from including up to Diamond Medallion status.

Previously, you needed to complete the requirements below by March 31, 2021 to maintain that Medallion Status through January 31, 2022: (This is has now been extended until May 31, 2021)

  • If you receive Gold Medallion Status: Fly 2 Qualifying Round Trips or 4 One Ways
  • If you receive Platinum Medallion Status: Fly 4 Qualifying Round Trips or 8 One Ways
  • If you receive Diamond Medallion Status: Fly 6 Qualifying Round Trips or 12 One Ways

As a valued traveler, know that we have your back and are committed to making your flying experience safe and enjoyable from start to finish. In fact, we are the only U.S. airline that is continuing to block middle or select aisle seats and limiting the number of customers per flight through April 30.

Bottom Line

Delta’s offering its most generous status match the airline has ever offered. Typically, you’ll be matched to the same level of the airline you hold status, but with this offer you’ll be matched one tier higher all the way up to Diamond Medallion.

It’s clear Delta is looking to earn new business during this time and it’s a compelling offer if you do hold elite status with another airline, especially if you’re able to match to the Diamond Medallion level.

Delta’s latest extension now allows those who signed up an extra 2 months to fly the number of required flights to maintain Medallion status through January 31, 2022.
